David’s first touchdown of the year…

Here’s the article from the paper (I copied and pasted from the internet) about David’s ballgame on Friday. They lost but David had a great game…even scoring their only touchdown!!!!!! 🙂 Thought you might like to read.

Appalachian 33, Jax Christian 7
APPALACHIAN — Depth proved to be the deciding factor in Appalachian’s Class 1A, Region 5 win over Jacksonville Christian — and it factored in early.
JCA put together a strong opening drive, but an interception derailed it. From there, it was all Appalachian. The Eagles soared to a 24-0 halftime lead, scoring on their next four possessions.
Thunder coach Tommy Miller said he didn’t want to make excuses, but said the high crown on Appalachian’s field made a difference.
“A turnover always makes a difference,” Miller said. “There was a reason for the overthrow, but it sounds like an excuse. We used to play on a field with a higher crown than that. But if you haven’t played on one in awhile, it can make your throws go high.”
JCA moved the ball 65 yards in 12 plays with Davis Parris scoring on a 16-yard run and John Robinson adding the extra point.
“Appalachian is one of the two best teams in our region,” Miller said. “I’m proud of how our kids hung in there — they played hard up until the buzzer.”

Until next time,
