I’m having a contest!

Are you a mom?

Would you like to know that there are other moms out there who understand what your life is like? Then you need to know about Hearts at Home. A Hearts at Home conference is like going to “mommy school.” You’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and you’ll be inspired to be the best mom you can be. Additionally Hearts at Home offers books, an online mothering community, a bi-monthly magazine, and a free E-Newsletter. I strongly urge you to grab some girlfriends and attend one of their upcoming conferences:

October 3-4, 2008 Grand Rapids, Michigan
November 7-8, 2008 Rochester, Minnesota
March 13-14, 2009 Bloomington, Illinois

If you don’t live close enough to drive to a conference, and hopping on a plane isn’t an option, you can also order a Home Conference Packet which gives you the conference via CD.

Check out the Hearts at Home website today to find out all that Hearts at Home has to offer you!

Here’s how my contest will work: this week through Friday, by posting a comment on my blog, you will be entered into my drawing. Each day, I’ll ask you to comment on a different topic concerning motherhood. Be sure to check back each day and comment! The more comments, the better…more drawing entries!

Today’s topic:
What you do to keep your mommy batteries charged?

Be sure to post a comment to be entered in my drawing!

Until next time,

  1. Right now, I focus on MOPS. Although it can be more work sometimes than a re-charging, I do still love it and feel it is a needed ministry. I feel like most times MOPS is not enough and I need to find something that does a good job of re-charging me on a regular basis. I know that when I let myself be last on the list of things to do for too long it truly effects my family in a negative way. I get snippy and complain about little things more. Looking forward to hearing everyone else’s ideas!

  2. Recharging my batteries is a challenge for me. With my husband working so many hours, I don’t seem to find any time for me. I will spend an hour or so during nap time to read my devotional or just read through my bible.

  3. -Hey Jenifer! Cute pictures of all the fun at your house! What do I do to recharge my batteries? I live for his naps. When he is sleeping, I run around having ME time. That is what I am doing right now. Checking email or reading a book or how about a SHOWER (what is that?) ! I find that the rest of the non-me stuff can be accomplished while he is awake or during his daddy time.. thanks for asking and leading our study. love and prayers always- gwen

  4. I love the organzation. A group of from Indiana were planning on going, but we moved to AL. I wish it was closer!Recharge – what is that!Debbie

  5. Recharging my battery is very hard for me when I have so much that has to be done as a single mom. I just pray each day that the Lord will get me through the day with as few obstacles as possible.Christy

  6. Hmmm, my batteries are sorta low right now with our recent move and 2 under 3yrs keeping me going. But I’d have to say taking a day to myself. Last week I went to Super Target, alone! Waaahaaa! I walked slowing looking at well, everything. I had a chance to price pieces for our house w/o any help and I had time to dig out those coupons. Plus they had free samples on every isle! Free food and 3 hr to myself. Woohoo. By the time I left I realized I spent 2.5 hours in the store. DH keeps joking that I spent 3 hr at Target. Who spend that long at ONE store? Well a mom who wants a break!!!! How can he complain anyway as the kids napped most of the time and he got to watch an entire game of football. Win-win I might add! So take that long shopping break and recharge.
