Don’t you just love the 4th of July? What a great time to get together with family and friends! But I am sad this year that our plans are changing from the norm thanks to the city of Jacksonville. We normally go to Bryan’s Aunt Dorothy’s and hang out in their huge front yard and watch the fireworks at the university. Usually lots of folks from church stop by as well as family. It is a GREAT spot to view the festivities and it’s nice when you have little ones because if someone needs to go potty, nurse or have a diaper change, you can always head inside. Now things are moving to the high school! No one asked ME! What were they thinking?
Can’t decide if we will brave the crowd at the high school (my how I despise crowds…especially when I am HOT!). I hear there will be other things planned as well as fireworks that I know the kids would love. But am I that brave? Haven’t decided yet. To tell the truth I would be just as happy going for a swim, watching my husband put on our own fireworks show at home and eating an ice cold slice of watermelon at my own kitchen table! That may be the way to go! And it comes with restroom access!
What are your plans for the 4th?
