I wouldn’t consider myself an American Idol fanatic but I do like to catch the show when I can, especially if there is a contestant on that I love. I usually just record it, fast forward through 90% of it and call it a day.
This past season, I just loved Phillip Phillips (what kind of parent does that to their kid…..). I don’t know that I would go out and buy his album but I might have fallen head over heels with him in high school. Ha!
Anyway, I loved his song “Home”. Even though it is not a spiritual song, it reminds me of my Heavenly Father. Maybe right now with all that’s going on, maybe everything reminds me of my Heavenly Father….
Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
“I know you haven’t been down this road before Jenifer, but I have…..trust me…I’m right there beside you and walking this road with you.”
Cause I’m going to make this place your home
“This is your new normal….your new ‘home’…doctor’s appointments, specialists, therapy…..this will all be home to you now.”
Settle down, it’ll all be clear
Don’t pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found
“Satan will try to drag you down…he wants nothing more than to bury you alive in your fear. Settle down, know that I’ve got this. In your deepest, darkest pit of fear, I will find you.”
