Sitting here…missing church…

The illness running through our house caught up with mommy…

Nothing terrible…fever, chills, headache, runny nose, sore throat, occasional cough…

So Daddy is at church, my older runny nose babies are playing in the playroom and Neely and I are watching the classic Alice In Wonderland on Netflix.  Thank you Lord for Netflix, Amen.

So many things are racing through my head…

First off is Facebook…I soooooo enjoyed my FB break back in the spring.  It was nice to not feel constantly drawn in to those little blue and white pages.

I decided to jump back in when Neely was born and was so grateful for the contact, prayer support and encouragement of my Facebook friends.

But once again I feel sucked in to the black hole that is Facebook….

On the one hand I feel like I could avoid it cold turkey and not miss it a bit…on the other hand, I realize what a GREAT way it is for me to communicate about Mom To Mom, our Thursday night book study group, etc.

Then I begin to think, is it MY job to make sure everyone knows about everything?  This is the same reason I took a break before….I was constantly posting, sharing information and was scared to miss a thing….

What happens then, as a byproduct, is that I blog less….I record less actual family memories and more snippets instead…

So that being said, I’m trying to find a balance…I want to be able to use FB for all of the great and wonderful things it offers us while not being sucked in to the constant dribble……

Here are some things that I have been meaning to post of Facebook but I’ll share them here instead….this way, those that want to know what is going on with us, can check in with us on our family blog and those that don’t, won’t have their Fb feed filled up by me! 🙂

Here are two books that are on my MUST READ list!  A sister of a friend recommended them the other day and I have them in my cart on Amazon.  Please click over and read the details/reviews.  I think you won’t want to miss these!

(For some reason blogger will not let me post a PICTURE!! Click on over though!)

Sorry about the randomness…

Until next time,

  1. I have recently stepped away from facebook. I check it occasionally but have come to realize I am not missing much when I am away.
That said though, I've recently joined twitter. Oh my. I hope it won't become a time consuming addiction but rather a quick way to connect and chat with friends. We will see.
