No More Perfect Moms….

Are you a  perfect mom?  Yeah, me neither……

To be honest, I beat myself up so often about the kind of mother I want to be and the kind I actually AM….

I get so discouraged….

I have all these expectations that I have placed on myself and most often I feel like I am drowning in them…

I see all the “perfect” things that other moms do with their kids, how “perfect” their kids behave, how “perfect” their marriages are, how “perfect” their homes are……and I continue to beat myself up….

I usually feel like I am doing ok in one area of my life at a time, not all of them at once.  But in the area of motherhood, I most often feel like a failure.  Before I had children, I had it all planned out in my head….

My kids would always be dressed in beautiful, matching smocked outfits….

They would all be best friends…

They would never fight….

We would have family movie night/game night once a week….

We would gather around the fireplace each morning for morning devotion….

Can I tell you honestly that is NOT what my life looks like?
