Essential Rewards

Almost five years ago, I began to learn more about the dangers lying around my house. There were toxins lurking in our home that we had never thought twice about …toxins known to disrupt hormones, cause cancer, quicken aging, interfere with fertility, and more! We had make the mistake of assuming that if Target sold it, it was safe. There were people getting paid good money to make sure all of that stuff on the store shelves is safe, right?

Well, I soon found out that that was not really true. As we began to read labels and see that so many of the products in our home contained these toxins, we became determined to kick a lot of that out of our house FOR GOOD.  But, we didn’t just want to kick out the BAD. We wanted to replace them with things that were GOOD for us. Things that would IMPROVE our level of wellness.

But, we couldn’t afford to do it all at once. All we could do was kick out one or two toxic things out of our house at a time (I remember the first thing to get the boot was the household cleaners). We hopped on Essential Rewards and began placing monthly orders to slowly replace things. Placing those orders through Essential Rewards earned us a ton of ER points, which enabled us to speed up the process. Young Living also sent us other free stuff every month to try to free! Now, I can happily say that our house and our health are a whole lot better than they used to be.

Long story short: We have thousands of dollars worth of Young Living products in our home that we paid $0 for. And we want to help you guys do the same. Essential Rewards is AWESOME!

Do you love getting “happy mail”?

I do too!

Every month, I get happy mail from Young Living…basically, a customizable “subscription box” (think similar to birchbox, kiwi crate, stitch fix, etc.)

It’s my Essential Rewards order, and it makes my whole month when it shows up!

Here’s a quick video to show you the basics of how to make Young Living “happy mail” a regular part of your life through Essential Rewards:

Now, you may be thinking “this is so stinkin’ amazing” (and it is)! Stick around, and I’ll share lots of different ways to make the most of your happy mail experience!

Essential Rewards (ER) is YL’s wellness subscription program. If you see yourself starting to order new products or even the ones you may be running out of at this point, then I recommend looking into this program. You can cancel any time if it’s not for you, with no weird penalties or anything. You can also change the date AND items you get each month. The best part and the whole point is: a ton of free stuff!

– Months 1-3 on ER earn 10% back of the PV that you spend on your order

– Months 4-24 earn back 20%

– Months 25 and beyond earn back 25%!!!

I have gotten so much free stuff every single month thanks to being on Essential Rewards.

To keep your ER active, you want to spend 50PV a month. It is a total no-brainer if you are loving the product and spending money anyway.

There are also fun gifts that YL is giving simply for being loyal and using Essential Rewards.

You will get a gift at consecutive months 3, 6 and 9 and then a specially formulated blend called Loyalty at month 12! “Loyalty oil” is not available any other way, and is a fun blend because it includes oils from each of the main YL farms around the world.

So, you might be thinking “I don’t have $50-$100 extra to spend right now.” And I’ll tell you that I thought the exact same thing.

Then, I realized how many incredible products Young Living has, and how much of what I buy already (toothpaste, laundry soap, cleaning products, granola bars, vitamins, pancake mix, etc.) I could just STOP BUYING AT TARGET AND WALMART and start buying from Young Living instead! This is what I call “transfer buying”, because you’re not spending more money – you’re just spending the money in a different place, and on things that are so much healthier for your family.

Something else that I no longer buy at Target and other stores are GIFTS!

Instead, I give OILY gifts for each occasion. How cute are these ideas?

*Wedding – Sensation, Harmony, dewdrop diffuser

*Baby shower – Stress Away, Gentle Baby, Peace and Calming, Lavender

*Housewarming – Thieves foaming hand soap, Citrus Fresh, dewdrop diffuser

*Anniversary – Sensation, Harmony, Longevity, Ylang Ylang

Transfer buying is the BEST! And never fear, if you’re like me and you need a regular trip to Target to keep your sanity, go for it! You’ll still need clothes and shoes and pretty things for your home and the cute gift bags and cards to go with the oily gifts.

So you bought your kit and you’re in love. If you’re like me, you found Stress Away to be a gateway drug and now you’re fully, hopelessly, forever addicted to all things essential oils and on a mission to detoxify your home.

Here are some things that we know to be carcinogenic and/or toxic to our bodies, which were on my “get out of my house” list:

Laundry detergent
Face wash
Candles/air fresheners
Household cleaners
Hand soap
Body wash
Protein powder
Supplements (for weight management, etc.)
Hand sanitizer
Dryer sheets
Sun protection creams/sprays
Body lotion

The versions of these products that are sold in mainstream stores have been linked to several diseases, infertility, and all-around yuckiness. Not sure which brands and ingredients are so bad? Download the free Think Dirty app. You’ll be able to scan the products in your home and see exactly how yucky or not yucky they are!

We’re just about completely finished ridding our house of ALL OF THESE ICKY STORE BOUGHT THINGS and replacing them with Young Living products (or in many cases, things we were able to make using Young Living essential oils!) Things that are not only NOT bad for us…but are so, so very good for us with a wide variety of benefits to our health as we use them.

Thanks to Essential Rewards, each month my home gets one step closer to being toxic-free. It’s a huge comfort to me knowing that I am no longer putting harmful chemicals into the bodies of my little children. Our air, bodies, surfaces, clothes, etc. are all SO much better for us…and that’s something to be excited about!!!

BONUS: We’re spending WAY less money at Target! #sosorrytarget#stillloveya

Especially if you are pursuing the business end of YL and are ordering 100 PV each month anyway, doing that 100 PV through ER makes complete sense. It’s a no brainer! Who doesn’t LOVE freebies? (This girl sure does!)

What’s next on your “get out of my house” list??? Tell us below!

Want to know how you can be on ER and not spend a dime of your own money AT ALL?

Have friends and family add to your order!

If they want to try some toothpaste and a bottle of oil, add it on to your ER until they’re ready to get their own account! Having friends and family add to your order adds up and it’s great for everybody! They get to dip their toe into the journey toward enhanced wellness, you get your PV met, and you get to pocket the ER points and freebies! Holla!

Here’s a script you can use when inviting friends to add to your order:

I realized the other day that I’ve NEVER offered to grab some individual oils for you, my friends. How rude! (Probably because I think the kit is the BEST way to get started and a lot of you have ended up going that route.)

BUUUUUUT since it’s not always possible, or sometimes you just want to give a couple of oils a go before diving in, I wanted to put it out there for you! I’m going to put in an order tomorrow. If you want to try anything, I can grab it and even have it shipped directly to you.

Some great starting oil suggestions:

*Thieves for immune system support

*Purification for cleaning the air and getting rid of smells

*Digize for all things digestion

*Lemon for energy, cleaning, and detoxing your body

*Stress Away for exactly what it says

*Frankincense for SO MUCH! Google this bad boy…it is insanely amazing!

*Peppermint keeps my head and stomach happy and therefore is a clear friend.

*PanAway for keeping your body mobile and young.

*RC for breathing. Cuz breathing rocks!

*I could go on. And on. And on. You know this by now.
Anyway, just let me know what I can grab for you. I’m SOOO happy to get ANY oils into your hands!

Change the wording a bit if you want, add a cute pic of your oil stash and post away!

Let’s talking about shipping!

When you order a Young Living package, what can you expect? What are the tips and tricks from leaders for making it the best shipping experience?

– First things first, if you ever have an issue, the best place is to talk to your upline. Your sponsor or enroller most likely will be able to help you, and if not, then your upline Silver will be able to.

– Next, perspective. While we live in the glorious days of Amazon Prime, Young Living is not Amazon Prime. In order to have packages that get to us in that beautiful lightening fast speed, we’d have to choose something to give up. Free oils? The opportunity to get ER points, a percentage of your commission? ‘Cause Amazon doesn’t give us any of that!

Some tips we’ve learned from Corporate:

– Do not choose USPS.

– Know that your ER order processes at midnight, the end of the date selected. So if your ER day is the 7th, you can expect to see it process on the 8th.

– When pushing an order through, make sure the order processes before noon if you want it to truly process that day. It will sit until the next day if it’s after Noon (MST)

– Early in the week is a guarantee it will be shipped out before the weekend. Monday or Tuesday is our best bet because an order takes 3 business days to process. Ordering on Thursday or Friday usually means it won’t ship until the following week.

If our order is scheduled for anything after the 20th, we are to expect slower shipping because it’s the busiest time of the month. They suggest order processing no later than the 20th if getting your order in a timely manner is imperative. Also, if our orders are scheduled for anything after the 20th, we run the risk of things going awry?

What can go awry, you ask?

– Someone can return something. We lose PV.
– Someone goes out of stock. We lose PV.
– Payment declines for whatever reason.

If this kind of stuff happens in the second half of the month, then watch to ensure you actually have the PV needed so you can maintain rank or get commission. Leaders are suggested to have earlier ERs for commission purposes.

– Shipping will take longer over a holiday weekend.
– Expect 2-3 BUSINESS days for an order to process.
– YL is closed for major holidays.

The actual travel time to your destination is calculated by the carrier, not YL. Remember that once something leaves Young Living’s warehouse, it is the shipping carrier that is responsible. Have a package bouncing all around? Contact the carrier (for example FedEx) to resolve the problem.

– Saturday delivery is not available in all areas. And packages don’t ship on weekends. If you see a shipment notification late Friday, it is likely just a shipping label, no movement will take place until Monday.

– If you want Amazon Prime-like speed, choose overnight or 2-day FedEx shipping.

– DO NOT CHOOSE SMART POST. It is not smart. 😉 And let’s be real, if you are overseas, smartpost means “by boat, so you obviously don’t need these products this month…” 😉

And if you choose the cheapest shipping option, more chances it will go smartpost.

– I personally always go with the YL choice, ground shipping with 3-5 business days and always have satisfactory shipping.

And as always remember that these are real people bottling, labeling, boxing and shipping your goodies. So thank you for representing us well and being patient and kind with Young Living if you need to contact them about a package!
